   在等离子体中,由于异性相吸,一个带电粒子总是被一些带异号电荷的粒子包围,这样,带电粒子的静电场基本上只能在一定距离起作用,在此距离外因周围异号电荷的屏蔽,电场迅速消失,这个距离称为德拜长度 λD。λD是静电作用的屏蔽半径,是统计意义下的概念,仅在以 λD为半径的德拜球内有大量带电粒子即 nλ!!!D0575_1>>1(n是粒子数密度)时才有意义;λD又是局域电荷分离的空间尺度,如果 λD 远小于等离子体的尺度L ,则等离子体宏观上就是电中性的,实际上L>>λD的电离气体才能叫做等离子体。
