Based on geology and geochemical researches of the metabasic volcanic rocks,two types of basalts are recognized in the tectonic belt of the northern margin of the Yunkai block,southeastern Guangxi,namely,mid-oceanic ridge basalt(MORB) and island arc basalt(IAT).
