法国音乐学家，耶稣会教士。1718年2月8日生于土伦,1793年10月8日卒于北京。1751年奉命来华传教，在中国生活42年，起中国名钱德明，字若瑟。阿米奥对中国文化、尤其是音乐有极大兴趣，通过书信、论文、译著,向欧洲介绍中国音乐,是近代西方音乐民族学的先驱。阿米奥精通满汉语言，在华深得乾隆皇帝的信任，委之以职，并从事学术研究。他介绍中国音乐的第一本书是翻译清代李光地于1708年成书的《古乐经传》。他的关于中国音乐的论述，散见于《北京传教士关于中国历史、科学、艺术、风俗、习惯录》（16 卷，1776～1814）；他还著有《中国现代音乐》、《中国古今音乐论文集》（1779；1937年重印）。他还编有一部《鞑靼·满·法字典》（3卷,1789～1790）。未出版的手稿有对当时中国音乐实践的研究和一本包括有54首中国曲调的现代记谱手册。阿米奥对中西文化交流作出了重要贡献。
