明正统三年（1438），汤池镇果树村云南总兵朱关离任回乡时带回一棵茶花树，名曰大红宝珠。粗壮的主杆上分出三根支干，树身略有倾斜，在朱家庭院中高过屋顶，枝叶繁密如盖，花色鲜艳。其花特点：花型大、颜色艳，每年正月至四月盛开。虽历经500多年历史，仍风采依然，娇艳似火，令人神往，每年清明节前后，花开似锦，实为罕见的花坛奇观，观赏者络绎不绝。2001年被庐江县人民政府公布为第二批县级重点文物保护单位。
