乃查莫玛尼堆位于距丁青县城东南30公里的绒通乡,是西藏最大、最有名的玛尼堆之一。乃查莫藏语为花色圣地。相传文成公主赴藏联姻行至绒通乡,因向神像顶礼的时辰已到,对面的草坪上显现出了11尊人体大小的佛像,公主立即向佛像献上供品,并顶礼祈祷。此刻天空出现了许多七色彩虹,公主便将此地命名为花色圣地,并将一块刻有六字真言的石块放置在地上,插上经幡。从此,藏族同胞经过这里,都要奉上刻有佛言、佛像的石块,世代相袭,便形成了这里巨大的玛尼堆。
