In the autumns of 1988 and 1989, some fossil insects were collected from the late Jurassic Yixian Formation (J_(3y)) of Daxinfangzi Village, Lingyuan County, western Liaoning Province, China, and a new familly Liaoximordellidae is here erected and described in this paper.
