毛伊岛厚喙雀，厚喙雀属雀形目，是鸦雀属的一类鸣鸟。全世界大约有14种。它的喙很像鹦鹉，主要产于亚洲的中部和东部。其中较为典型的是古尔德厚喙雀，身长约18厘米，上体呈褐色，下体呈白色。与身体相比，头看上去很大，眼睛的四周和耳边有黑色的标记。一些体型较小的种类色彩比较鲜艳。它们的身长大约在11厘米左右，我国公园里常见到的红喉雀属于这一类。
