以文南油田沙二下亚段为例 ,通过对其古生物特征、地球化学特征、沉积构造特征、储层岩性特征、粒度特征等方面的综合分析 ,确认文南油田沙二下亚段沉积环境为干旱炎热气候下的间歇性涨缩浅湖环境 ,沉积相为浅水三角洲和滨浅湖沉积体系 ;划分出了三角洲前缘水下分流河道、水下溢岸砂、水下天然堤、前三角洲泥、滨浅湖泥砂等多种沉积微相类型 ;分析了各沉积微相的特征 ;指出水下分流河道砂体储层的物性最好 ,水下溢岸砂次之。

补充资料：山旺村古生物化石自然保护区
中国古生物化石宝库。位于山东省临朐县城东北约20公里的角岩山麓。《临朐县志》载："灵山东南5里，俗传山麓溪涧边有特别产物，曰'万卷书'。自地中掘取极易,其质非土非石,平整洁白，层叠若纸。揭视，内现黑色花纹，备虫、鱼、鸟、兽......花卉诸状态。"这一地区蕴藏大量古生物化石，面积约2平方公里,厚20米左右。化石门类之多，数量之大，世所罕见。已发现第三纪中新统古生物化石达10余门类，近200种,新的种属还在不断出现。其中包括苔藓、蕨、裸子植物，被子植物化石和昆虫（蜂、蛾、蜘蛛）、两栖（蝌蚪、蛙）、爬行（蛇）、鱼、鸟、哺乳（鹿、犀、貘、猪）等各类动物化石。化石一般保存完整齐全，清晰可辨，故有大自然的"万卷书"之称。
