Based on the detailed wind data from 1980 to 2000 at Shapotou station in southeast edge of Tengger Desert,the sand drift potential and the maximum possible transport in this region were calculated,and their relationship was analyzed.

The resultant drift potential(RDP) is higher in east of Xinjiang, and in west, northwest of northern Xinjiang, but lower in west and southwest of southern Xinjiang; ge.
