形态特征:杜鹃花科杜鹃花属常绿灌木或小乔木，高4-5米。叶互生，厚革质，长圆状椭圆形或狭长圆形，长8.5-15·5厘米，宽2.5-5厘米，顶端短渐尖，边缘全缘，上面无毛，背面被一层由短分枝毛组成的薄毛被;柄长2-2.5厘米。5月开花，花6-10朵在枝顶端排成短的总状伞形花序;花梗红色。长2.5-3厘米;花萼小，长1-2毫米;花冠淡红色，长3-4厘米，直径3-3.5厘米，内面基部具红紫色柔毛 裂片5，近圆形，长1.4-1.5厘米，宽1.8-2厘米，顶端微缺;子房疏被短柔毛和柄状腺体。
生境分布:生于海拔2900-3800米的山坡云杉林下。分布于西藏东部。
