描述LeptocodonLem.薄钟花属，桔梗科，只有薄钟花L.gracilisLem.1种，分布于印度北部和我国西南部。缠绕草本；叶互生和对生，具柄；花单生于枝顶或与叶对生；萼管与子房贴生，半球形，5裂，裂片近叶状；花冠蓝色，长管状漏斗形，略弯，5裂；雄蕊5，与5腺体互生；子房半下位，3室，有胚珠多颗；柱头3，阔；蒴果室裂为3果瓣；种子少数，长圆形，有光泽。本属与党参属Codonopsis很相近，惟5枚雄蕊与5腺体互生不同。
