In this paper,proala crustacea maculas of Coccinella undecimpunctatas sampled in eight prefectures of Xinjiang were analized and 35 kinds of types were found,including 20 rarely - seen aberration types and 3 extremely - rarely - seen reducing and unexistence aberration types.

鸡形目雉科山鹑属的 1种（见图）。又名须山鹑。体型、大小与鹧鸪相似，体长约 250毫米。上体褐棕，杂以栗色短斑，两翅表面具乳白色细纹；喉侧羽毛成须状；脸、喉与前胸均深棕色。雄鸟前腹具大块马蹄形黑斑。嘴暗铅色或暗角色；脚和趾灰色。
本种有 3个亚种，皆见于中国北部；其中东北亚种(P.d.suschkini)分布最广,遍布于东北及内蒙古自治区的东北部。
习性似石鸡，但不善鸣叫。多生活在山坡、草原、或草原带的树林中。通常结群觅食，主食植物种子、嫩芽,兼吃昆虫。在灌丛中的地面上营巢。6～7月产卵,每窝13～22枚，呈乳灰色，大小为34×26毫米。
斑翅山鹑是有名的猎禽，被视为野味珍品。
