| 地质年表 geological time scale 表示地史时期的相对时代和同位素年代值的表格。又称地质年代表、地质时代表。地质年表以地层学和地质年代学的研究为基础，沉积岩中的化石代表不同的地质年代，研究沉积中的化石就成为对比岩层和建立标准地质年表的主要手段。同位素年代测定法对岩层年龄值的测定，使地质年表更趋准确 。 地质年表包括地质年代单位及其始迄年龄值（ 见表）。地质时代的基本单位是纪，由纪组合成更大的单位代，纪的下属单位为世。
