描述AsperugoL.糙草属，紫草科，只有糙草A.procumbensL.1种，产欧洲和亚洲，我国西北、内蒙古和西藏亦产之。一年生草本；叶互生；花小，腋生，具极短的柄，单生或稍聚生；萼5深裂，裂片不等大，果期强烈增大，呈蚌壳状包着小坚果，有隆起的网脉；花冠阔圆柱状，深裂，裂片圆形，喉部有半圆形的隆起体；雄蕊内藏；花托柱状，于花柱着生处有4个凸体；花柱短；小坚果4，卵形，以中部以上着生于花托的凸体上。
