性质:又称3,11-二羟基十四烷酸或3,11-二羟基肉豆蔻酸。无色结晶。熔点100~101℃。旋光度[α]D+1.69°(乙醇中)。可由氢碘酸与赤磷还原成十四烷酸。本品以牵牛脂苷的形式存在于牵牛花(Pharbitis nil L.Choisy)种子中,含量2%。在旋花科植物Ipomoea purpurea Roth的种子油中也含本品。可经萃取而得。用于制造香料、肥皂等。其衍生物:(1)银盐,熔点160℃;(2)甲酯,熔点68~69℃,旋光度[α]D+1.69°(乙醇溶液);(3)单甲醚,熔点64~65℃;(4)本品的双苯基氨基甲酸酯C14H26O2(OCONHC6H5)2,熔点96~97℃。
