角色自居说(roxe identifieation theory)精神分析学派关于两性性别差异的一种理论。认为儿童性别特点的形成是由于他们无形中模仿和自己性别相同的成年人，特别是模仿父母行为，从而产生自居作用的结果。这种自居作用一般分为两个阶段:(l)男女两性在婴儿期共有的对母亲情感上的本能依恋，属于孤儿状态的自居作用。(2)儿童产生自我意识之后，男性由于害怕和嫉妒等原因，对父亲的防御性自居作用，以及女性对母亲的温和的自居作用。故男女两性各自形成“自我”和“超我”的不同性别特点。这种理论强调人的情感和模仿活动在男女两性形成不同心理特点中的决定作用。 (白学军撰林索德审)
