| 白云鄂博 位于中国包头市北 150千米处的乌兰察布草原，周围是乌兰察布盟达 尔罕茂明安 联合旗辖地 。 白云鄂博为蒙古语，意为富饶的神山。白云鄂博铁矿位于白云鄂博矿区（属包头市）西北部，矿区面积138平方千米，全区人口 2.27 万。白云鄂博铁矿于1925年由地质学家丁道衡发现。1934年，著名地质学家、岩石矿物学家何作霖研究发现了白云鄂博矿的两种稀土元素新矿物，取名为白云矿与鄂博矿。至此，白云鄂博矿为世人所瞩目。1955年成立白云鄂博办事处 ，1958年成立白云鄂博镇（旗县级），8月划归包头市管辖。 |
