| 山溪鲵属 Batrachuperus 小鲵科的一属 。体长250毫米以下 。头扁平 ，有眼睑（见图）。躯干和尾基部圆柱状。已知6种，中国有4种，阿富汗1种，伊朗1种。在中国西藏高原东侧和西侧呈断裂状分布。多栖息在海拔1500 ～ 4000 米的山溪内的石下或溪边石缝土隙内。以虾、水生昆虫、水藻等为食。体外受精。卵大，色乳白。幼体在溪水中生长发育，完成变态。可食用，味美而有营养，四川称为杉木鱼或羌活鱼，可以入药。
