单庄村位于江苏姜堰市张甸镇最南部，东与高庄村，南与泰兴市胡庄镇隔河相望，西与胡庄镇，北与三彭、高庄村交界，村域面积47.3公顷，本村距镇区约7km。
单庄村现有自然村落2个，村民小组7个，总户数276户，人口846人，目前人均宅基地面积80m2。集中居住点为1、2、3、4、7组，集聚户数210户，人口650人。
村域地形平坦，河道纵横。地形绝对标高在4.8-5.2米，地基承载力在8-12t/m2左右，地震基本烈度为7度。单庄村位于北亚热带季风气候区，气候温和，年平均气温在14.5oc左右，年均降水量在991.7mm上下。常年主导风向为东南风，境内主要河流有高庄河、单庄河，主要道路为镇域外环路。河道常年水位1.3-1.5m，枯水位0.8m，历史洪水位3.40m。
