   地壳深部(大于10~15千米)具有强烈塑性流变及旋转应变的面状高应变带。又称韧性断层。韧性剪切带中没有明显的不连续面,与两侧岩石之间的应变呈递进演化的关系 ,两侧岩石则显示出明显的剪切位移。规模小者见于显微镜下的薄片中,大者宽数十千米,延展可达上千千米,常见于造山带。韧性剪切带主要地质构造特征有:①面理、线理发育。②应变自中心向两侧递减,由此形成的面理或线理呈连续的S形或反S形排布。③带中岩石具明显的旋转构造特征,如不对称压力影,S型云母鱼。④软性矿物常呈优选方位组构特征。⑤在中心高应变带发育有糜棱岩。⑥在中心高应变带常可见到由于强烈剪切而形成与线理近于平行的A型褶皱或似箭鞘状的鞘褶皱。
