巫山龙骨坡遗址“巫山人”考古工作,最近有了实质性进展。中科院古脊椎动物与古人类研究所人员在此发掘出距今约200万年的巨猿化石,这不仅为“龙骨坡文化”提供了详实有力的证据。
据介绍,考古人员在龙骨坡遗址发掘出了一枚幼年巨猿的乳齿化石,经初步测定,距今约200万年。在化石四周,还发现了大量大小不一的磨制石器和小石片。证明了“龙骨坡文化”这种“代表200万年前一种混沌初开的石器工业”的存在,还极可能证明三峡地区是人类诞生的摇篮之一。
