性质:在基因操作中,把DNA或RNA、蛋白质等在薄膜滤器上先经浸润,固定后,于薄膜滤器上进行杂交,生成杂种分子。为基因操作中最常用的技术。常用的操作方法是:将用凝胶电泳分离出来的DNA或RNA、蛋白质等,在保持电泳图形的条件下,使其移至薄膜滤器上,再用事先准备好的检测样品(探针,经标记的某种基因等)进行杂交。以显示这些DNA、RNA、蛋白质等。从凝胶上转移DNA的技术称萨瑟恩(Southern)印迹技术。一般把转移RNA称为诺森(Northern)印迹技术,而把转移蛋白质称为韦斯顿(Western)印迹技术,当利用凝胶进行抗原抗体反应,再进行印迹时,称做伊斯特尔(Eastern)印迹技术。
