The third generation ocean model developed by the State Key Laboratory of Numerical Modeling for Atmospheric Sciences and Geophysical Fluid Dynamics (LASG) has been improved, and the integrated results of the improved model from January, 1959 to December, 1998 are analyzed to study the physical mechanism of occurrence, development and disappearance of the tropical Indian Ocean dipole.

大西洋—印度洋海岭(atlantlc-indian ridge)
又名“非洲-南极海岭”。在大西洋东南部和印度洋的西南部。系南大西洋海岭的延续,东与西印度洋海岭相接。长约3,000公里,最宽450公里。个别山峰高达3,000—4,000米,最高峰距洋面155米。
