麻粒岩

   一种变质岩。又称粒变岩。属中高级区域变质作用产物。1803年魏斯首次命名。主要由长石、石英、辉石 (紫苏辉石、透辉石等)组成,有时含石榴石、矽线石、蓝晶石等。岩石中含水矿物不稳定,一般不含或少含。矿物多呈粒状,组成粗细条带,相间排列,形成麻粒结构。可根据暗色矿物含量分为两种类型:①暗色麻粒岩。暗色矿物 (紫苏辉石、透辉石、角闪石)达30%~80%。② 浅色麻粒岩,暗色矿物含量小于30%。通常认为,其变质作用属于典型的麻粒岩相的范围。有人主张只把具麻粒岩相典型矿物组合的变质岩称作麻粒岩。主要分布在太古宙至早元古代变质岩系中。
