In the present paper, we use high-resolution IKONOS data to plot the vegetation mapping at fine scale in Wufendi gouge basin located at Zhunger, Inner Mongolia.

Image fusion for IKONOS imagery can acquire high resolution fused image with abundant spectral information, as IKONOS imagery is one kind of high resolution satellite remote sensing imagery, The paper proposes the wavelet transform method, combined with the HIS algorithm, for IKONOS imagery fusion and makes plentiful experiments in comparison with HIS, wavelet fusion algorithms.
