| 鲚 Coilia 硬骨鱼纲鲱形目鲱科鲚属鱼类的通称。经济鱼类。分布于印度洋北部沿岸至中国、朝鲜、日本。中国沿海及各大江河均产。中国产4种：刀鲚、凤鲚、七丝鲚和短颌鲚 。其中以刀鲚和凤鲚经济价值较高。鲚体延长，侧扁，向后渐细尖，腹部具棱鳞。吻短，圆突。口大、下位。无侧线。背鳍1个，臂鳍基部较长，与尾鳍相连。胸鳍上部具6～7丝状游离鳍条。 刀鲚又名梅鲚、刀鱼。分布于渤海和东海一带。成鱼摄食虾和小鱼 。幼鱼以端足类 、枝角类、桡足类为食。每年2～3月亲鱼开始由海溯江而上进入干、支河流进行生殖洄游。产卵群体以3～4龄鱼为主。2龄开始性成熟，产卵期4～6月，长江以5月为盛期。仔、幼鱼常在河口生活，第2年入海生长和育肥。凤鲚又名凤尾鱼。摄食糠虾类、小长臂虾、桡足类和幼鱼。产卵期亲鱼很少摄食。每年4 月下旬鱼群从沿海洄游至崇明、江阴一带长江口咸淡水域产卵。幼鱼在江苏、浙江沿海一带育肥。可用丝流网、张网、小打网捕捞。鲚鱼肉嫩鲜美，富含脂肪。除鲜销外，还可油炸制成凤尾鱼罐头。小型刀鲚一般晒成鱼干。
