规格：全长230.6英尺（70.3米），全宽25英尺（7.6米），吃水15.8英尺（5.5米）
装备：533毫米鱼雷发射管6具、虎鱼mk 24 mod 2鱼雷及剑鱼鱼雷、ugm-84b潜射鱼叉反潜导弹。沉底水雷
主机：2具帕克斯曼柴油发动机、一具电动机（5400马力），单轴，浮航状态12节，潜航状态20节。
支持者级为单艇壳的泪滴形舰身设计，舰身由高张力钢制成，泪滴形舰身可使其拥有较高的潜航速度。舰身宽/长比极高，压力壳直径亦大，如此可使舰内拥有两层广阔的甲板。压力壳内分为三个水密隔舱间，推进机具室与引擎室皆位于后段隔舱，引擎室位于推进机具之前，两者之间由隔音舱隔开。总之，支持者级的所有设计皆结合了当今最精良的科技技术。潜航深度亦十分优异，为200米。
使用高张力钢可增强潜艇的舰身结构，进而使潜航深度增加百分之五十。
支持者级的主要推进系统为两具帕克斯曼维伦塔1600 rpa-200 sz 柴油发动机，这也是此种发动机首次装置于潜艇上。目前舰上所搭载的鱼雷为虎鱼mk 24 mod 2鱼雷，亦可选用较复杂且较快速的剑鱼鱼雷，这两种系统皆可用于攻击水面舰只或潜艇。支持者级的最大耐航天数为49天，并可以3节速度潜航90小时。
