relic landform

   基本形态与现代地貌塑造过程完全脱离的、与现代大地构造条件不相适应的地貌单元。古地貌往往不易被完整地保留下来,尤其是在构造隆起的剥蚀区。在抬升地区可出露地表,如山顶的准平原、风口的古河谷等;在沉降地区被埋藏于现今地貌面之下,如古河道、古潜山、古沙丘等。根据古地貌遗迹可寻找矿产资源,如石油、天然气、砂矿、地下水等,亦可推测形成古地貌时的自然环境,对农业生产具有重要意义。
