Simulation of the leading mode of Asian-Australian monsoon interannual cariability with the Beijing Climate Center atmospheric general circulation model.

This work assesses the performance of the new generation of LASG/IAP coupled climate system model named FGOALS_s in simulating the relationship between the Asian-Australian monsoon (AAM) and ENSO (El Nio-Southern Oscillation).

Climatological Characteristics of Water Vapor Transport over Asian-Australian Monsoon Region;

The daily moisture transport flux(Q)calculated by using NCAR/NCEP reanalyzed data from 1950 to 2004 and the monthly mean moisture transport flux are used to analyze the characteristics of moisture transport over Asian-Australian monsoon region.

The seasonal variability of atmospheric heat sources over the Asian-Australian monsoon region is analyzed using 51-year NCEP/NCAR reanalysis data.

Constructing a Recent 8 ka High-Resolution Record of East Asian Winter Monsoon from Sediments on Inner Shelf of East China Sea;

The relationship between the spatial and temporal variation characteristics of the first mode(EOF1) of East Asian winter monsoon and climate change in China is revealed by using the vector EOF expansion of winter wind fields at 1 000 hPa over East Asia during 1951/1952～2003/2004.

Under this heterogeneous warming background,the sea-land thermal contrast would be changed and then may lead to the variation of East Asian winter monsoon(EAWM).

Using the CCM3/NCAR,a series of numerical experiments are designed to explore the ocean-land interlaced distribution of Africa—Arabian Sea(AS)—India Peninsula—Bay of Bengal(BOB)—Indochina Peninsula-South China Sea(SCS) on the formation of the Asian Winter Monsoon circulation.
