Beginning with the current de- velopment of urbanization in China, based on the case study of the concept planning of Zhengxin area in the southof Chengdu city, this paper examines the relationship between three aspects of new urbanism: settlement spatial structure, transport mode and environ- mental system, in order to find a ratio- nal development mode for edge cities.
