描述RostellulariaReichb.爵床属，爵床科，约20种，分布于亚洲和非洲，我国有爵床R.procumbens（L.）Nees等2－3种，产东南部至西南部，为旷地上杂草。披散或匍匐草本；花小，穗状花序式排列于枝顶，或单生或聚生于苞腋内；苞片狭，常有睫毛或白边；萼片4，很少5片而其中1片线形；花冠管短于冠檐，檐2唇形；发育雄蕊2枚，花药2窒，室一上一下，下室空虚（即无花粉）而有距，胚珠每室2颗。
