乃真净高弟。尝著禅本草一篇曰。禅。味甘性凉。安心脏。祛邪气。辟壅滞。通血脉。清神益志。驻颜色。除热恼。去秽恶。善解诸毒。能调众病。药生人间。但有大小．皮肉．骨髓．精粗之异。获其精者为良。故凡圣尊卑悉能疗之。余者多于丛林中吟风咏月。世有徒辈多采声壳为药食者。误人性命。幽通密显。非证者莫识。不假修炼。炮制一服。脱其苦恼。如缚发解。其功若神。令人长寿。故佛祖以此药疗一切众生病。号大医王。若世明灯。破诸执暗。所虑迷乱。幽蔽不信。病在膏肓。妄染神鬼。流浪生死者。不可救焉。伤哉。噫。世称韩昌黎。毛颖传以文章为滑稽。若禅本草。宁免并按者欤。先佛号大医王。而修多罗藏得非方书乎。况禅本草从藏中流出。议病且审使药。且亲其有。服食获证大安乐地也必矣。由是观之。雅岂徒然哉。
