The Garizaren Formation consists predominantly of argillaceous rocks and fine-grained quartzose sandstone with siltstone, limestone and basalt, belonging to continental shelf facies, and contains minor non-fusulinid foraminifera, brachiopods and bivalves.

扎日拥康神山位于甘孜县城以西36公里处来马乡境内的一条山沟中，川藏公路北侧。 扎日拥康神山高约50米，周长500米，是一座风景秀丽的椭圆形小山，一条小溪自西向东穿山而过。山上经幡飘扬，柏树茂密，灌木葱郁，随处可见造型各异的岩石，岩石上有各种神奇的图案。冬季时，山洞中还有许多了神形不一的冰柱。 神山对面山岩上，有历代高僧修行的岩洞，洞中还有许多高僧修行禅坐的痕迹。据传，宗喀巴大师、莲花生大师都曾在此修行。
