单纯疱疹病毒2型主要感染生殖道。HSV2是最早被认为在宫颈癌病因中起重要作用的一种病毒。有学者发现宫颈癌患者中HSV2抗体阳性率高达80%以上,而对照组仅为14.14%~57.14%,其抗原阳性率也远较正常对照组及慢性宫颈炎者为高。应用核酸原位杂交及HSV2DNA探针检测,亦发现宫颈癌组织中HSV2DNA相关序列远较正常组织为高,从宫颈癌患者宫颈刮取物中分离出HSV2病毒颗粒,并将分离的病毒株进行细胞转化及小鼠诱发宫颈癌的研究,均获阳性结果,且HSV2与宫颈浸润癌的相关性较宫颈上皮内瘤变(CIN)为强。
