棉花经济(eotton eeonomies)棉花的生产、交换、分配和消费等活动及其经济关系。 世界棉花经济概况世界上最早栽培棉花的国家如墨西哥、印度等，已有50()。年以上的植棉历史。但是，直到第一次产业革命棉花需要量大增以后，棉花经济才有显著的发展。19世纪50年代，英国成为棉纺织业大国，从东印度和北美进口大量棉花。英国1800一1810年从世界各地(主要是西印度和地中海东部诸国)进口棉花只有7 983吨，到1846年仅从东印度和美国就进口棉花19.8万吨，1860年又增加到59万吨;从1920年以后，主要从美国进口，占英国棉纺需要量3/4。美国在19世纪50年代棉花已经实行专业化生产，1860年生产棉花83.1万吨，1910年增加到252.8万吨。1934一1938年全世界平均年产棉花665万吨，其中美国占41%。中国的南方、西南和西北边远地区植棉有悠久的历史，但从13世纪宋末元初以后，在长江、黄河流域植棉才渐普遍;从19世纪70年代以后，棉花出口才有显著增加。1868年棉花出口仅为1 907吨，到1895年增加到4.48万吨。20世纪30年代，中国和美国、印度、苏联并称为四大产棉国。第二次世界大战以后，棉花经济发展很快。1985年，世界棉花总产量达到1 702万吨，比1934一1938年年平均产量增长1 .5倍;国际棉花出口贸易量达423万吨，比1934一1938年年均出口贸易量增长38%。由于化学纤维的竞争，从1960一2975年美国、埃及都大量缩减棉花生产，苏联、印度放慢了发展速度，但中国、巴西、土耳其、巴基斯坦等国仍在继续发展。 全世界有70多个产棉国家，主要分布在亚洲和美洲。1985年，亚洲棉花面积1 794万公顷，总产量773 .1万吨;美洲棉花面积945万公顷，总产量480.6万吨;非洲棉花面积402万公顷，总产量138 .3万吨。其中主要产棉国:中国总产量414.7万吨，美国294.7万吨，苏联260万吨，印度140万吨，巴基斯坦115万吨，巴西92 .6万吨，土耳其51 .7万吨，埃及46万吨。这八个国家的产量占世界总产量的83%。世界平均每公顷棉花产量是483千克，其中最高的国家是澳大利亚，达1 636千克，其次是以色列，1 448千克。棉花主要出口国有市人口2.7米，农村人口2.5米。(张桐边吉嘉)美国、苏联、中国、埃及和苏丹。1980年，美国出口棉花182 .3万吨，苏联出口84 .3万吨，埃及出口14 .8万吨。中国1985年出口34.9万吨。世界按人口平均的棉花消费量1985年是3.4千克，但美国、日本、苏联和西欧一些国家平均每人消费水平都在5千克以上。 中国棉花经济概况中国在1949年以后，棉花生产有显著增长。1949年棉花总产量为44.4万吨，1985年增加到414.7万吨，增长8.34倍。
