为小檗科植物毛八角莲的块茎。
【植物形态】
毛八角莲 多年生草本。地下茎块状，蔓生，粗壮。地上茎直立，被粗毛。叶1片，很少2片同出于一茎上；叶盾形，边缘最多为九角，上面绿色，有紫斑纹，下面浅绿色；叶柄具粗毛。花序着生近顶端，在叶片相近处抽出，单生或至5朵着生于一短梗上；萼片5，线状；花瓣5，暗紫色；雄蕊6，花丝片状，斜立，花药2室，纵裂，向内；雌蕊1，柱头头状，子房上位。浆果卵圆形，黑色。种子多数，无假种皮，花期5～6月。果期9～10月。 生于密林、山谷等阴湿地方。分布广东、广西等地。
