【来源】
为桃金娘科植物细叶桉的叶。
【植物形态】
细叶桉，又名:褐桉树。 乔木，高10～50米，树皮平滑，淡白色或淡红色，呈薄片状剥落。异常叶圆形至阔披针形，宽达10厘米，有时偏斜；正常叶披针形，长15厘米以上，镰形而渐尖，侧脉多数，斜举稍粗，脉端稍离叶缘。伞形花序腋生或侧生，由4～8朵花组成；花直径1.5～2厘米；萼筒陀螺形，直径4～6毫米；帽状体长圆锥状，渐尖、短尖或钝头，长7～12毫米；雄蕊多数，长6～12毫米，花药小，卵形。蒴果倒卵形或近球形，直径6～8毫米，果缘阔而高凸，果瓣突出于果缘外，短尖。花期冬、春季。 广东、广西、福建等地有栽培。
【采集】
全年可采。
【化学成分】
叶和小枝中含挥发油0.5～0.9%，主要成分为1，8-桉叶素、对-聚伞花素、蒎烯、水芹烯和枯醛等。
【药理作用】
用试管内双倍稀释法证明，50%细叶桉煎液对金黄色葡萄球菌(浓度为1:1280)、肺炎双球菌(1:10240)、乙型链球菌(1:2560)有较强的抑菌作用，对变形杆菌、绿脓杆菌作用较弱，对大肠杆菌无抑菌作用。
【性味】
《陆川本草》:"辛苦，平。"
【功用主治】
《陆川本草》:"治感冒，咳嗽，气胀腹痛，泄泻下痢，跌打损伤；外治毒疮，溃疡，并可作冲洗消毒剂。"
【用法与用量】
内服:煎汤，3～5钱。外用:煎水洗。
