贝壳堤 shell levee 粉砂淤泥质海岸带,在波浪的作用下,将淘洗后的生物介壳冲向岸边形成的堆积体。波浪的冲刷,使海滩坡度增大,底质粗化,底部的贝壳类介壳被海水冲到岸边,堆积在高潮线附近,经长期作用便形成贝壳堤。当海岸带泥沙来源充分,海滩泥沙堆积作用旺盛时,贝壳堤停止发育。多次的冲淤变化便留下多条贝壳堤。可以作为古海岸线迁移的标志。用14C同位素年代测定贝壳生成的年代,便可恢复海岸发育的历史。如渤海湾西岸由于黄河多次南北改道,形成了数条标志古岸线的贝壳堤。 |
