| 云室 cloud chamber 早期的核辐射探测器，也是最早的带电粒子径迹探测器。1896年由C.T.R.威尔逊发明，又称威尔C.T.R.威尔逊改进过的云室（1912）逊云室。利用纯净的蒸气绝热膨胀，温度降低达到过饱和状态，这时带电粒子射入，在经过的路径产生离子，过饱和气以离子为核心凝结成小液滴，从而显示出粒子的径迹，可通过照相拍摄下来。云室中的气体大多是空气或氩气，蒸气大多是乙醇或甲醇。根据径迹上小液滴的密度或径迹的长度可测定粒子的速度；将云室和磁场联用，根据径迹的曲率和弯曲方向可测量粒子的动量和电性，从而可确定粒子的性质。在历史上，云室对粒子物理起过重大作用，曾用它发现了e+、μ-、Κ+0和Λ、Ξ-等粒子。
