当显影后负片密度不足时，一度将负片图角进行漂白，再显影来提高负片密度的处理。对显影不足时有一定效果，但原因为曝光不足时，则加厚处理就不那么起作用。此外，即使做到某种程度的加厚，分辨力也会相当降低，使用35毫用胶片时，为了防备万一出现曝光足情形，以添加2-3片格的层次曝光为上策。
