Based on the analysis of different methods for appraising the port resource economic effect,the data envelopment analysis(DEA) and modified data envelopment analysis(MDEA) models are introduced to make a comprehensive appraisal of economic effects of 12 Chinese container terminal companies,and the comparative analysis of the relative effective values obtained by DEA and MDEA models is made.
