性质:是一种不用放射源的电子捕获检测器。以氦气为载气进入放电电离室时,电极在氦气中放电,使氦电离产生自由电子和光子。由于极化极较放电负极电位高,可吸引一小部分自由电子进入俘获反应区,并在极化极与收集(正)极之间产生一定的基流。当载气中电负性组分进入时即俘获自由电子而降低基流,给出信号。
