| 地球同步轨道 geosynchronous orbit 运行周期与地球在惯性空间中的自转周期（23小时56分4秒）相等的顺行轨道。俗称 24 小时轨道。在地球同步轨道上运行的卫星，每天在相同的时间经过地球上同一经纬度地区的上空，它的星下点轨迹（人造地球卫星在地面投影点在地球表面移动形成的轨迹）是位于某个区域内的一条封闭曲线。对于这一区域的观测者来说，每天可以在相同的时刻在同一方向上观测到卫星。倾角为零的圆形地球同步轨道称为地球静止轨道，因为在这样的轨道上运行的卫星将始终位于赤道某地的上空，相对于地球表面是静止的。这种轨道卫星的地面高度约为 3.6万千米。它的覆盖范围很广，利用均布在地球赤道上的 3颗这样的卫星就可以实现除南北极很小一部分地区外的全球通信。 |
