【植物形态】
禾叶墨斛 草本，丛生，高15～20厘米。根茎匍匐，淡褐色，上部生须根。茎直立，具4～5个鞘状苞片，绿色，顶部生叶3～5片，禾叶状，上面深绿色，下面淡绿色，基部成鞘抱茎。穗状花序腋生，1～3枝，花序梗有绒毛，花小，白色，花被片外面有绒毛。 生于田野草丛较潮湿处。

7～8月采收。
【性味】
甘淡，寒。
【功用主治】
滋阴益胃，生津液。治热病伤津，口干烦渴，病后虚热，胃酸缺乏。
