   火成岩的一种 。二氧化硅含量较低 ,碱质含量较高(Na2O+K2O> Al2O3 ) 。一般呈浅灰 、浅绿或浅红色。主要浅色矿物为碱性长石(微斜长石、正长石、钠长石),暗色矿物为霓石、霓辉石、钠铁闪石、钠闪石等,副矿物有方钠石、锐钛矿和磷灰石等。可分为深成碱性岩,如霞石正长岩;浅成碱性岩,如霞石正长斑岩;喷出碱性岩,如响岩等。一般产在地壳构造运动较弱的稳定地区,很少形成独立岩体,多与基性岩、超基性岩、碱性正长岩、碳酸岩一起形成杂岩体。与之有关的矿产有铌、锆、稀土、铁、钛、磷等。可利用其钾含量高、二氧化硅含量低的特点,制作化肥和陶瓷原料。
