交叉效应
交叉效应指由于相关商品的价格变动所引起的商品需求数量的变化。相关商品有两种，其一是互替商品，即在效用上可以互相替代的商品。当两种商品彼此为替代品时，一种商品价格上涨将使另一种商品的需求量增加;反之，则减少。例如，羊肉价格上升将使牛肉的需求量卜升，因为消费者将会多买牛肉少买羊肉;同样，当羊肉价格下降，消费者将改购羊肉以替代牛肉，牛肉的需求量下降。所以，一种商品的价格与其替代品的需求量是作同一方向变动的。其二是互补商品，两种商品互相补充配套使用，从而满足同一种欲望。当两种商品为互补品时，一种商品价格上涨将使另一种商品的需求量减少;反之，则增加。例如录音机的价格上升，购买量减少，同时使磁带的需求量下降;同样，如录音机价格下降，其购买量增加，必然对磁带的需求也增加。所以，一种商品的价格与其互补品的需求量是作反方向变动的。 正的交叉效应意味着替代性，负的交叉效应意味着互补性。
