性质:某些材料当受外加电场作用后,其光学介电性能改变的现象。外加电场可以是静电场、微波电场,也可以是光学电磁场。一些晶体电光作用基本上来源于电子;另一些晶体中电光作用与振荡模式有关。电光效应在有些情况下随外加电场而呈线性变化;另一些情况下则随场强呈二次方变化。重要的电光材料有铌酸锂、钽酸锂(焦铌酸钙)、磷酸二氢钾、铌酸钡锶(SrxBa1-xNb2O6),磷酸二氢钾,钽铌酸钾[K(TaxNb1-x)O3]、铌酸钡钠(Ba·NaNb5O15)等铁电晶体和透明铁电陶瓷如锆钛酸镧铅[(Pb,La)(Zr,Ti)O3]等。由于极化状态或相变或折射率随电场而变,这类材料应用广泛如光学振荡器、频率倍增器、激光频振腔中的电压控制开关,光学通讯系的调制器,以及光的存贮和图像显示等。
