shape coding
形状编码(shape eoding)以几何图形为代码对传递的信息进行编码。形状编码有二维的和三维的。二维形状编码，以平面几何图形作代码，只能依靠视觉传送。三维形状编码，以立体几何形体为代码，除了可以用视觉通道传送外，还可以通过触摸感觉通道传送。形状编码系统所能使用的形状代码数量受人类对形状的绝对辨认能力的限制。用于编码的形状一般不宜超过巧种。在设计形状编码系统时，所使用的代码要尽可能设计成与所代表的对象在外形上有一定的相似度，或在涵义上有一定的联系。 (朱祖样撰牟丈博审)
