ln this paper, the basic principle of automatic computer recognition of derusting grade of steel plate is proposed and studied, First, image information of derusted steel plate is taken by CCD picture pick -up device, then, shade of grey and oolor are digitized, images are carved up and contrasted, and the texture and structure are analysed.
