把被测参量转换成数字量输出的传感器。它是测量技术、微电子技术和计算技术的综合产物，是传感器技术的发展方向之一。数字式传感器一般是指那些适于直接地把输入量转换成数字量输出的传感器，包括光栅式传感器、磁栅式传感器、码盘、谐振式传感器、转速传感器、感应同步器等。广义说，所有模拟式传感器的输出都可经过数字化（见模数转换器）而得到数字量输出，这种传感器可称为数字系统或广义数字式传感器。数字式传感器的优点是测量精度高、分辨率高、输出信号抗干扰能力强和可直接输入计算机处理等。
